As part of the French - Israeli agreement regarding scientific cooperation, the Israeli Ministry of Culture, Science and Sports, the Ministry of European and Foreign affairs and the French Ministry of Research and Higher Education have decided to give financial help for projects in Research Network that are carried out by Israeli and French scientists. Objectives The purpose of this program is supporting a scientific cooperation between Israeli and French research teams. The program enhances the constitution of bilateral research networks between teams from the two countries. The projects are to be proposed by both the Israeli and French teams, jointly. Each project must be coordinated by two PI (principal investigators), one from each of the two countries.
Israeli and French teams are invited to send proposals for research project in the field of " Energy and Environment: Photonics, Water, IT, Advanced Materials and social impact. The projects that will be awarded are planned to begin September 2009. The deadline for submitting applications is March 15 2009, up until 12:00 AM.
General Scheme The program is funded by: -French: Ministère des Affaires Etrangères et Européennes and the Ministère de l’Enseignement Supérieur et de la Recherche. - Israeli side: The Ministry of Science, Sport and Culture Eligibility
Proposals are required to meet following terms. Those who do not fit these preconditions will be rejected, and not pass further to the committee for evaluation.
• Proposals must involve an Investigator from each of the countries. • The PI on each of the sides must be associated with a certain academic institution, or a public research institute. Researches working from the industry may also participate, as partners in teams that are headed by principal investigators from research institutes or academic institutions. • The submission of the proposal must contain the application form that is attached to this call, and the other materials specified in the Application Form. • Proposals that include experiments that require using animals must add the approval of a Committee for Animal Experimentations. • Proposals that involve experimentation human beings must also submit the approval of the Helsinki Committee.
The Israeli French High Council for Technology and Science Research Chooses the priority fields for cooperation every year. The Council Meeting that was held on 08/07/2008 in Jerusalem decided to launch projects in the topics of Environment and Energy, concerning these topics: Photonics, water, IT& Telecom, Advanced Materials.
