This program offers overseas students an opportunity to spend a year in Israel immersed in Torah study at JCT – Machon Lev’s unique Beit Midrash and at the same time to begin their college education. The program is designed to ensure that the time spent learning in Israel forms the basis of a life of growth in Torah and Derech Eretz.
Two integrated programs are offered: the Beit Midrash Program and the Academic Program. The Beit Midrash Program is held during the morning hours and some evenings. Students take shiurim in Gemara and Chevrutot as well as structured classes in a variety of Torah subjects, including Practical Halacha, Torah and Science, and Mussar. The Academic Program, held in the afternoon, consists of a curriculum of up to 30 hours of courses in English in the following areas: Hebrew language, Jewish philosophy, calculus, computer science, economics, psychology, physics, and the Internet. Students will also be offered advanced placement opportunities in the hundreds of courses in the regular JCT – Machon Lev Hebrew syllabus. |
